I guess I was one of the few who actually liked the show that got the boot from TV and is now airing online due to poor ratings.
But from the very first episode you just kind of knew it was not going to last long because it was lacking in more than a few things, despite the fact that most of the women were likable.
1.The Tuesday time slot sucked
Was I the only one that forgot the show was actually on after the first two episodes ? The show would have probably had a better chance of succeeding if it aired on Sunday, Mon or Thursday night. Because on Tuesday nights I know I am not the only one who doesn’t watch much TV.
2. Lack of Social Media Buzz
One of the big reasons other ratchet reality shows have managed to stay on air is because of social media. When Love and Hip Hop ATL was on, Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook blew up with trending topics, gifs and pictures.
What happened after a episode of Starter Wives aired ? for the most part you could hear crickets, no one really cared.
3. No Shaniqua Tompkins
A piece of the puzzle seemed to be missing in terms of the cast to make the show work and I thought it was Shaniqua, who has the most well known ex.
But If it wasn’t for her ex 50 Cent tripping her up with legal issues, that only allowed her to make a brief statement in episode 1 her participation and spilling the tea about what life with 50 was really like was what would have made the show interesting. Of course 50 being 50 had to take a stab at the “wives” after they got the boot saying that they need to get jobs.
4. Wrong Network, TLC: Just all kinds of wrong
From Day 1, the premise of this show had VH1 or Bravo written all over it.
Because something tells me even TLC probably knew that this type of show wasn’t the right fit, so they gave it a Tuesday Night slot, hoping that it would die a quick death so they could move on. You just knew it would soon be in the TV show graveyard when you basically saw TLC wasn’t going hard on the promotion before & after it aired.

Ratchet Reality Roundup: Houstons, Tamar & Vince, Marrying The Game
In the month of December our TV screens bid farewell to some shows for the time being.
1. The Houstons: On Our Own brought epic ratchetness
Throughout the whole series you had Pat Houston ignoring her own daughters needs so she can cater to Bobbi Kristina. Nick Gordon coming off quite the manipulator and a bit smug saying how he is the one that Bobbi Kristina listens to.
And then Bobby Kristina herself, who is obviously in pain over her mother’s death, looks like she stays high 24/7. Of course the rest of the family tip toed around that issue because it’s clear that all of them are used to living the life off Whitney’s money and now that she is gone and her money is now Bobbi Kristina’s money Pat in particular is doing everything she can to exert some control over Bobbi Kris and not piss her off so the money train won’t stop.
In the season finale, her husband Gary who made it known he was not happy saw right through Pat ignoring him and their daughter again to take Bobbi Kristina to California. The reason was obvious, Pat knows that Nick is a huge threat when it comes to Bobbi’s money and is obviously afraid that influence could lead to her getting the boot as executor of those millions so the more distance that she can put between them the better.
2. The season finale of Tamar and Vince was telling.
During their vow renewal in Vegas when singing her vows to Vince, Tamar put a little to much emphasis on the word Rich and Vince let her know that his feelings were hurt. She as she likes to refer to herself in the third person denied it. But it was very obvious in the back of Vince’s mind he wonders “Is she with me for my money”
3. Basketball Wives L.A Season 2 Reunion: Boob Tube
This version lived up to it’s rep as the tackier version fashion game wise compared to Miami. Before season three starts they need to do a few things.
STOP: Using John Salley as the host, these reunion specials that go on a hour to long where these chicks rehash their bird behavior has Wendy’s name written all over it.
START: With two new wives, Gloria and Bambi need to go ASAP, anyone else would have totally ran with it, if a spin off was centered around them like it was set up for Gloria but instead she let Jackie come and snatch her wig and have the last two seasons basically center around her.
CONTINUE: With the drama of course: Brooke and Draya twisting in the wind over the irrelevant King Magazine. The very real issues that Jackie and her daughters are going through that Jackie seems to self absorbed to fully acknowledge. Laura and Jackie friends one minute, frenemies the next.
