Grammy Party Pics: Meagan & Husband, Ashanti, Jill Scott & More

Before the Grammys, the usual annual parties went down. The most famous one Clive Davis’s Pre Grammy Party honoring L.A Reid went down on Feb 9th. Brandy, Jill Scott, Ashanti, Pharrell and others worked the red carpet.

Also the Warner Music Group had their own Grammy party at the Chateau Marmont on Feb 10th. Meagan Good and her husband and a now debt free (atleast to the IRS anyway) Jermaine Dupri and others attended.

After the Grammys, Los Angeles Confidential Magazine And Harmony Project threw a party honoring Mary J Blige and her Los Angeles Confidential cover at the Elevate Lounge on February 10, in Los Angeles.

Ashanti: Has her time been come and gone ?

I know it’s popular these days on the internets to kick a artist while they are down (see Ciara) and Rihanna more than any artist these days seems to have some self awareness to how potentially short a artists shelf life is, so she has been dropping albums in quick succession.

But it has been over four years since Ashanti has released a CD and these days the public has ADHD of some sort where you have to be extremely visible almost on a daily basis for people to pay attention or they will forget about you and move on to the next. And Ashanti has been practically reclusive compared to Brandy who was much more visible when on her comeback journey.

Ashanti recently did a interview with Siriusxm where she made it known she is still in the game and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon but will the digital file/CD buying public still be there for her next release which is due to drop on her own label this year.

But one thing is clear, you can tell right away she is no dummy when it comes to the music business.

Catching up over what transpired in reel time from about April 27th to the 29th.

Ray J put in a appearance at the ‘Over The Top’ party at Gallery Nightclub in Las Vegas. I wonder does he still give the gas face whenever he is asked about you know who ?

Adrienne Bailon is pulling out all the stops to finally get her fame on, which means wearing things like this. She was spotted filming her upcoming show in Miami. From the pictures that have come out it looks like she is trying to capture the same audience the Kardashian’s have, the 14-21 crowd who stan out and live vicariously through those who seem to have a endless clothing budget.

Khlo-Money and Kimmy Cakes were suited and booted in NYC over the weekend. Khlo with the hat backwards and Kimmy with Jordan’s to venture with Khlo’s husband Lamar from their hotel in Manhattan to Lamar’s neighborhood in South Jamaica, Queens. (Still rocking mostly designer clothes of course)


Solange, flipping the script from her usual eclectic outfits had a more subdued look at the 6th annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer gala at Cipriani on Wall Street.

The reigning Miss Universe put in a appearance during the last day of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Longtime Couple ? Ashanti and Nelly and a rare moment in which Mom Manager Tina isn’t in the picture, put in a appearance to at the same gala Solonge attended.

Ashanti performing at Parkfest, Jada and Willow attend “First Position” screening

Ashanti hit the stage at the University of Albany for Suny Albany Parkfest 2012 on April 21st. She also did a meet and greet with fans afterward. It’s surprising that you don’t see Mom Manager Tina hovering but no doubt she was there supporting her daughter.


Jada Pinkett Smith, along with daughter Willow whose hair style changes seem to be getting more attention than her music career lately attended Sundance Selects’ ‘First Position’ at the Aero Theatre yesterday in Santa Monica, California.

Nicki barbied up in London, Monica at Us Weekly Event, Ashanti in L.A and More

Soon after Nicki Minaj deleted her Twitter account because some fan seriously messed with her money by “leaking” her latest CD online, she hopped on a plane to London to promote Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Nicki wore her usual Barbie inspired attention grabbing outfit. But is her Barbie branding teetering on overkill ? (a lot will argue she is already there) Because have seen over and over again that a backlash will occur against artists who didn’t flip the script on their brand until it was to late.

She topped herself the next day leaving the W hotel, there are NO words for what she has on.

Monica attended Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood 2012 Style Issue Event in West Hollywood. She seems to be one of those women like Halle Berry who look better with a short cut. And the longer hair takes away a little from their “it” factor.
